Flawless beautiful skin, we all want it! Unfortunately some of us are not born with great skin. We have to do a lot more then the people who were but it s not imposable to get there. Learning all about it is the best place to start. The more you know the better you can treat it. Acne is a worldwide problem. Finding an acne treatment that works for you can be an upsetting and costly process. I myself have suffered with acne since I was 12. My oldest son, now 16, had it extremely bad. No matter your age of what type of acne you have there are treatments and you can make it better! I know firsthand what it does to person's self-esteem, confidence and overall personal growth. The emotional scars can be worse than the physical ones.
When I see the commercials on TV for the hundreds of products to help treat acne, I get a little upset. Only because there are 7 different types of acne and they are all different, therefore they each need a different acne treatment and special care. So those commercials that say this product will help everyone always makes me skeptical. Reading the ingredients is where you will learn which type of acne each treatment is more likely to help or be good for. If it is even affect at all.
There is the mildest form of acne which is whiteheads and blackheads. These are clogged pores filled with excess gland oil and dead skin cells. White heads are closed as where blackheads are partially open. The treatments for these can be usually helped by keeping a good skin care regimen; cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Peels are a great step to add to your skin care regimen as they help close the pores and make your skin firmer. Exfoliating is key as it gets rid of the layer of dead skin cells!
The more severe acne is the popules and pustules. Popules are small red bumps under the skin. Pustules are red pus filled bumps and often painful. These also need a good daily skin care regimen but also more aggressive treatments are needed.
Then you have the nodule and cysts. Nodules are bumps under the skin; they do not have a white or yellow tip on them. These are often painful and can leave scarring on your skin. Cysts are an inflammation deep in skin. They then come to the top of the skin and form a VERY painful, pus filled cyst. This suggests there is an infection. This kind of acne requires a really strict regimen of daily cleaning and more aggressive treatments. I would suggest if you can go see a Dermatologist just to make sure there is nothing serious going on too. Acne can be a sign of a deeper problem when you have the more aggressive kinds so it is always better to be safe.
The worst kind of acne is conglobata. This is when you have many popules and pustules, they are touching one another to form large masses of them. This type of acne needs to be treated by a Dermatologist. Keeping your skin clean and following your daily skin care regimen is still vital but this type of acne really should be under a supervision of a Dermatologist.
It is very important that you keep a very strict and consistent daily regimen. Acne is not just on the face is can also be found on the back, shoulders, chest and in other places you wouldn't think. It is so important to have good hygiene habits whether you have acne or not but people with acne have to be even more strict about it.
I suffered for 15 years with acne and tried countless numbers of different treatments and nothing every really maintained it. It wasn't until I educated myself more, learned about acne, the treatments each type needs and what was most effective that I finally succeeded. Everyone is entitled to feel beautiful / handsome and live a full life acne free! It is possible =)
